FAQ
Will my skin peel after a DMK treatment?
No, and that's the point. DMK works by supporting your skin's own renewal process rather than forcing it to shed.
Some clients notice very light flaking a day or two after, particularly in the first couple of sessions as the skin recalibrates. This is normal and mild. It's not the same as a peel treatment.
What is the Plasmatic Effect?
During the treatment, the enzyme mask tightens as it works. When it's removed, you may see a fine red line pattern across the skin - like a road map.
This is the plasmatic effect, and it's a good sign. It means your circulation has been activated and your skin is receiving more oxygen and nutrients. It fades completely within 20 minutes and leaves no lasting redness.
How many treatments do I need?
One session delivers a visible result — skin feels firmer, clearer and more alive.
For lasting change, especially uneven tone, firmness loss or early ageing a course of treatments is recommended.
Most clients see significant improvement over 4–6 sessions, spaced 1–2 weeks apart.
After that, monthly maintenance keeps results building
Think of the first treatment as meeting your skin where it is. The programme is where the transformation happens.
Can I combine DMK enzyme with other treatments?
Yes, and it works well as part of a broader skin strategy. At Bare Solutions we combine DMK with:
- Laser treatments — DMK supports skin recovery and enhances results
- RF microneedling & SkinPen Miconeedling — DMK preps and follows up to maximise collagen response
- Skin consultations — your first visit helps us map out the right combination for you
We will advise on timing and sequencing based on your skin and goals.
Is DMK good for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin?
Yes. DMK is not aggressive or irritating in the way that exfoliation-based treatments can be.
It works with the skin rather than disrupting it, which makes it well suited to reactive skin types.
The plasmatic effect can be more visible on rosacea-prone skin, but it is temporary and not harmful. If you have active rosacea or highly sensitised skin, let us know at booking so we can adapt the treatment accordingly.
